Reflections of a Survivor Across a Lifespan

An evening with Sharon Korman (en anglais)

Monday, January 23, 2017 at 7:30pm at Kehilat Gesher

Psychotherapist Sharon Korman is the daughter of a « Hidden Child » holocaust survivor who grew up in France during WWII. By telling her mother’s story, she will examine the psychological impact of overwhelming trauma on an individual. Using family photos, letters and recordings, including clips from her mother’s Shoah Foundation video, Ms. Korman shows how her own mother’s untreated Post Traumatic Stress Disorder affected her life, and how trauma can actually be transmitted from one generation to the next. Finally, she will speak about healing : what makes people heal, even without the support of psychotherapy.

Sharon Korman, M.A., M.F.T., is an American-born psychotherapist with more than 30 years of clinical experience whospecializes in trauma treatment. She has a private practice in the 15th arrondissement and works with adults, couples and older adolescents.

The presentation will be in English, but Sharon will answer your questions in French or English. La présentation se déroulera en anglais, mais Sharon répondra aux questions en anglais et en français.
