Most spiritual activities require preparation. Here is an excellent idea from my friend, rabbi Elie Spitz, which you can use as a personal preparation for the upcoming High Holy Days (Sept. 6th in the evening). As a means of identifying your core values, compose a letter to your loved ones describing your life, the lessons that you have learned about what really matters to you, and your hopes for them. Such a letter can be in the form of a blessing, traditionally known as an “ethical will” (Tzava’ah) and often presented to family after a person has passed. Writing such a letter offers insight into how you see your own life at this moment, and it serves as a reminder of what you see as your purpose on this earth! Write it. Share it with your loved ones, or mail it to yourself to open in a year… so you can see over the course of the upcoming year how much you have been in sync with your vision.<\/div>\n

The latest government measures announced concerning religious institutions in France, allow us all to celebrate the High Holy days 5782 live. We will, of course, also continue to stream our services for our members who, for health or geographical reasons, cannot join us in-person. In order to better organize the use of space in Cortambert (and better organize streaming requirements), we ask you to specify, when registering, which services you will attend in-person or online.Furthermore, as the Torah and our tradition teaches: \u201cwe are indeed our brother or sister’s keeper!\u201d With this in mind, we demand that all who are attending to wear a mask. You are also invited to wash your hands frequently. Proof of a vaccination certificate or a recent negative PCR\/Antigen test and a temperature screening might also be requested for entry. Please do contact our Rabbi, Tom Cohen, or President of the Governing Board, Samantha Woolfe, if you have specific concerns or questions.In order to share the ambiance, the joy, the wonder and the profound spirituality of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur services, we invite you to reserve your place on our website.<\/div>\n

Come and celebrate a fresh new start on Rosh Hashanah, September 6 evening, and September 7\/8. Yom Kippur is on September 16 this year, with Kol Nidrei on September 15 evening. 5782 High Holidays services will be accompanied by the stunningly beautiful voice of Tal Koch and the deeply moving KG Choir.<\/p>\n
