For my family, France, the land of human rights, was a dream. They lived in Istanbul, but they were Sephardic. One day, Joseph, the eldest son, decided to leave and try his luck in France. During the voyage he met a merchant who offered to teach him his diamond trade in London and Indonesia.<\/p>\n

It took ten years for Joseph to reach France and bring all his family.<\/p>\n

In Paris, they were stateless, but no matter: their new country would certainly protect them\u2026<\/p>\n

This cultural event is brought to you by KESHER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

”\u00a0KESHER, set up as a French “Association”, aims at facilitating contacts, exchanges\u00a0and thoughts among various players, French – and English speaking, of Jewish culture, with a view to developping\u00a0and promoting the features of such culture, based on tradition of progressive Juda\u00efsm, within the Paris area.<\/i><\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

KESHER\u00a0will achieve such mission through publications, conferences, gatherings and thinktanks, and more generally through any cultural initative\u00a0likely to contribute to said mission.<\/i><\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Activities of and actions by\u00a0KESHER\u00a0aim at encompassing the largest possible audience on the standpoint of age (from 0 to 99 years old, and on ! A special emphasis will be put on children and teen agers) as well as on the standpoint\u00a0of citizenships (mostly French – and English speaking, but without any exclusion : other citizenships are more than welcome !)\u00a0<\/i>“<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
